To ensure that you can use our services with peace of mind, please read the following information. This statement is based on the “Law Concerning the Sale of Goods and Services by Visits.
1.About the production period
We take 6 to 8 months or longer to complete because of the nature of the urushi lacquering process, which is affected by the season and other factors. In case of Maki-e, it takes 8 to 10 months or longer.
2.Cancellation or change of orders
Due to the fact that production begins after payment is made, we are unable to provide refunds for cancellations of orders after payment has been made. Additionally, we may be able to accommodate changes to the pen tip, so please feel free to consult with us.
3.About returns
Returns are generally not accepted, but initial defects will be addressed. Please contact us within one week of receiving the product.
4.In the case of gifts
Even for gifts, production time remains the same, so please order in advance. We do not accept Music or elastic customized nibs for gifts. However, nibs can be replaced free of charge within one month, with the recipient only responsible for shipping costs. Please ask the recipient to change the nib themselves.
5.About nib replacement
Please contact us within one week of receiving your item, both domestically and internationally. For items received by Nakaya within one month of your notification, we will replace them free of charge, with only the shipping costs to be covered by you. However, changes to Music nibs will incur additional parts and shipping costs. Replaced nibs and original parts that have been repaired cannot be returned. If you remove the nib yourself or have it adjusted by another company, the replacement will be subject to a fee.
6.Payment method
You can pay by PayPal, wire transfer, or credit card (lump-sum payment).
*If you wish to pay in installments for a high-value maki-e (US$7,000 or larger), we will accept payment in installments.
7.Shipping fees
Shipping fees are required for each fountain pen in a single order. Please note that, in principle, we cannot accept shipments to Japan. Additionally, delivery times vary for each fountain pen, so we are unable to combine shipments. If combining is possible, please be aware that shipping costs will apply to each individual item.
