We stop accepting order of “Zo-Gan (inlaying ‘Damascene’)style grip section” currently.
Nakaya reproduced and arranged the Zo-Gan which was popular during the heyday of domestically produced fountain pens.
Although the production method is different from the one at the time, the design that models after that Zo-Gan combined with the shape of our grip section, gives it a retro looks.
*The “Zo” in Zo-Gan means to shape, and “Gan” means to fit. Zo-Gan refers to the technique and product of inlaying one material into another.
The Zo-Gan which was reproduced and arranged by Nakaya uses the Maki-e technique, they do not match the definition of inlay, so we call them Zo-Gan style.
(1)Gold Zo-Gan style
(2)White Gold Zo-Gan style
【Notes】
The Zo-Gan style grip section is applicable to only urushi lacquer fountain pens basically.
Even if the girp section is urushi lacquered, it may not be possible to apply Zo-Gan style depending on the material of the pen, so please contact us for details.
The Zo-Gan style is made by pasting and fixed gold or white gold thin plate with urushi lacquer, and polishing it to exposed the gold and platinum parts.
If the exposed metal parts get sebum or ink, it may cause peeling or chipping.
It is recommend to clean the grip section with wiping gently after using the fountain pen.
