Cigar Long KARASU

Based on the crow painting from Yosa Buson’s signature work, “Kite and Crow”, it is expressed in Yako Makie.
The old tree and two crows were drawn using “Yako Maki-e” technique, and the snow is drawn by silver powder.
And branches of old tree covered with snow is drawn on the grip section using also “Yako Maki-e” technique.
Using “Yako Maki-e” technique made it possible to successfully express a calm and somber atmosphere of Ink brush painting (sumi-e).
The base color is “Aka-tamenuri”.
“Yako Maki-e” is Nakaya’s original name for the technique that drawing motifs with black lacquer on “tamenuri” base. As the Tamenuri background becomes brighter over time, the black lacquered motifs become more apparent.

Cigar Long Suzu Ishime (Shu)　

It is “Suzu Ishime” which uses “roasted tin powder” instead of Kanshitsu (dry lacquer) powder.
Using the roasted tin powder made it possible to creates the material finish.
This Suzu Ishime Shu uses the Shu(vermilion) lacquer for the base, and the finish will be bright to add a touch of gorgeousness to silver.

“Ishime” is created with the special technique that makes stone like texture on the surface.
When the dry lacquer powder is sprinkled on a lacquered surface, surface tension works and the powder gathered in places.
Making use of the clumps created by chance, layer the lacquer, let it fix, and then polish it to create “Ishime”.
It will be the “cobblestone-like” finish in the garden.

Cigar Long Kuro-tame Ishime　

“Kuro-tame Ishime” uses the shu (vermilion) lacquer for a base color and a black dry lacquer powder.
The finish becomes rough and powerful like a lava, the same as “Ishime kanshitsu, Aka-tamenuri”. “Ishime kanshitsu, Kuro-tamenuri” has a darker color because it uses the shuai urushi lacquer mixed with black lacquer for the finish.

”Aka-tame Ishime” uses the shu (vermilion) lacquer for a base color and a black dry lacquer powder, and finishs with a shu-ai lacquer.
It is similar to “Ishime kanshitsu, Kuro-tamenuri” finish but it has more reddish color. So it seems like a hot lava.

“Ishime” is created with the special technique that makes stone like texture on the surface.
When the dry lacquer powder is sprinkled on a lacquered surface, surface tension works and the powder gathered in places.

Cigar Potable Heki-tame Ishime

“Heki-tame Ishime” uses the special blue color lacquer for a base and the same special color dry lacquer powder, and finishs with a shu-ai lacquer.
The combination of the gentle yellow-green like a young grass and the brown of shuai lacquer creates a color that resembles green jasper.
