This pen was designed with inspiration from lava.Carving with a carving knife to make grooves on “Nunokise” and “Honkagaji” finish base, sprinkling gold powder to the grooves. Then sprinkle charcoal powder and paint vermilion lacquer and blur it to express lava.

Cigar Long Suzu Ishime (Silver)
It is “Suzu Ishime” which uses “roasted tin powder” instead of Kanshitsu (dry lacquer) powder.Using the roasted tin powder made it possible to creates the material finish.This “Suzu Ishime Silver” uses the black lacquer for the base, and the finish has the hard brilliance like a fumigated silver and hematite.“Ishime” is created with the special technique that makes stone like texture on the surface.When the dry lacquer powder is sprinkled on a lacquered surface, surface tension works and the powder gathered in places.Making use of the clumps created by chance, layer the lacquer, let it fix, and then polish it to create “Ishime”.It will be the “cobblestone-like” finish in the garden.

It is “Suzu Ishime” which uses “roasted tin powder” instead of Kanshitsu (dry lacquer) powder.
Using the roasted tin powder made it possible to creates the material finish.
This “Suzu Ishime Silver” uses the black lacquer for the base, and the finish has the hard brilliance like a fumigated silver and hematite.

Based on the “Rattan Basket” fountain pen of Platinum Fountain Pens CO.,LTD. (produced around year 1924), it is designed in rectilinear form that was mainstream at the time covering with a bamboo basket knitted hexagonally using thinly shaved bamboo. The size is almost the same as Piccolo size.The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section, and the basket are painted with black lacquer. The parts under the baske are finished with washed vermilion (Arai-shu) lacquer.*”Hexagonal knitting” is the most popular bamboo knitting which the mesh looks like hexagon.

It is the same rectilinear form as “Bamboo Basket Mesh” and set the coveres made from Pernambuco. The size is almost the same as Piccolo but 1~2mm thicker because of the covers.The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section are painted with black lacquer.Because Pernambuco is a natural material, each wood grain and color will vary each other. To take advantage of the wood texture, It is only polished. Please be careful not to get ink on it because it is not coated. Also, since Pernambuco was originally used as a raw material for dyes, the color may transfer due to sweat or etc.Pernambuco is a rare material native to Brazil and is used for the bows of stringed instruments. Due to excessive logging in Brazil, it is now protected by CITES and is difficult to obtain.
