(produced around year 1924), it is designed in rectilinear form that was mainstream at the time covering with a bamboo basket knitted hexagonally using thinly shaved bamboo. The size is almost the same as Piccolo size.The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section, and the basket are painted with black lacquer. The parts under the baske are finished with washed vermilion (Arai-shu) lacquer.*”Hexagonal knitting” is the most popular bamboo knitting which the mesh looks like hexagon.

To take advantage of the wood texture, It is only polished. Please be careful not to get ink on it because it is not coated. Also, since Pernambuco was originally used as a raw material for dyes, the color may transfer due to sweat or etc.Pernambuco is a rare material native to Brazil and is used for the bows of stringed instruments. Due to excessive logging in Brazil, it is now protected by CITES and is difficult to obtain.
