Cigar Portable FOX & HARVEST MOON
A fox and the moon are drawn with Tamesukashi technique. To express white fur, if it is just put silver powders on the motif drawn with tamesukashi, only the parts will be appear to stand out. So, after drawing the fox with Tame Sukashi technique, adding transparent amber lacquer to the entire surface of the motif to create a slightly plump relief shape. Then, splinkleing silver powders to the abdomen and tip of tail to express white fur. The pampas grasses are drawn with Yako Maki-e technique to give it depth.A fox footprint on the grip section with Tamesukashi technique also.

Cigar Portable WHITE ROSES
The standard color, Shu(vermilion) is used for the base and rose motifs are drawn on it with ivory white.The design was inspired by the ivory combs and hairpins decorated using Shu(vermilion) color during the Edo period. The motifs are drawn with caring the balance between the rose flowers and vines and the Shu(vermilion) in the base color.Due to drawing the rose motif in traditional colors, it creates a beautiful retro-modern atmosphere.

Based on the “Rattan Basket” fountain pen of Platinum Fountain Pens CO.,LTD. (produced around year 1924), it is designed in rectilinear form that was mainstream at the time covering with a bamboo basket knitted hexagonally using thinly shaved bamboo. The size is almost the same as Piccolo size.The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section, and the basket are painted with black lacquer. The parts under the baske are finished with washed vermilion (Arai-shu) lacquer.*”Hexagonal knitting” is the most popular bamboo knitting which the mesh looks like hexagon.

It is the same rectilinear form as “Bamboo Basket Mesh” and set the coveres made from Pernambuco. The size is almost the same as Piccolo but 1~2mm thicker because of the covers.The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section are painted with black lacquer.Because Pernambuco is a natural material, each wood grain and color will vary each other. To take advantage of the wood texture, It is only polished. Please be careful not to get ink on it because it is not coated. Also, since Pernambuco was originally used as a raw material for dyes, the color may transfer due to sweat or etc.Pernambuco is a rare material native to Brazil and is used for the bows of stringed instruments. Due to excessive logging in Brazil, it is now protected by CITES and is difficult to obtain.
