Cigar Piccolo AMANOGAWA

The design inspired by the “Milky Way” shining in the night sky is expressed with Raden.
A lots of fine shellfish (Mijin shellfish) of different sizes are used and put them in a spiral pattern with a gradation.
By making the base in black (KuroRoiro), the shine of Raden stands out, creating a finish that looks just like the Milky Way shining in the night sky.

Cigar Portable MANTEN

A starry sky is expressed by scattering small shellfish all over the black (KuroRoiro) base. Then the Milky Way more shining brightly is drawn in a spiral pattern in the starry sky. Also shellfishes are spread all over the grip section to create the feeling of a starry sky.
It has a more gorgeous and glittering finish than “Milky Way”.

Writer Portable WILD STRAWBERRY　

Based on Yakou Maki-e technique, we lay out several seashells (Raden).
Though we used many pieces of big shells in abundance and looks gorgeous, this artwork settled down the background kept the entire settled balance by Tame-nuri background.

Miyabigi Series KAGOAMIME

Based on the “Rattan Basket” fountain pen of Platinum Fountain Pens CO.,LTD. (produced around year 1924), it is designed in rectilinear form that was mainstream at the time covering with a bamboo basket knitted hexagonally using thinly shaved bamboo. The size is almost the same as Piccolo size.
The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section, and the basket are painted with black lacquer. The parts under the baske are finished with washed vermilion (Arai-shu) lacquer.

*”Hexagonal knitting” is the most popular bamboo knitting which the mesh looks like hexagon.

Miyabigi Series PHERNAMBUCO　

It is the same rectilinear form as “Bamboo Basket Mesh” and set the coveres made from Pernambuco. The size is almost the same as Piccolo but 1~2mm thicker because of the covers.
The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section are painted with black lacquer.
Because Pernambuco is a natural material, each wood grain and color will vary each other. To take advantage of the wood texture, It is only polished. Please be careful not to get ink on it because it is not coated. Also, since Pernambuco was originally used as a raw material for dyes, the color may transfer due to sweat or etc.

Pernambuco is a rare material native to Brazil and is used for the bows of stringed instruments. Due to excessive logging in Brazil, it is now protected by CITES and is difficult to obtain.

The unique pattern of black and gray blending with the warmth of the wood grain contrasts with the chic and calm design.

The name “Eiboku” expresses the simplicity of the combination of the shadow-like pattern and the grain of the wood.

Since the decoration matches the grain of the wood, the expression of the urushi lacquer part differs from one piece to another.

The wood is decorated with Urusih Nashiji technique.  The deep brown hue and fine shimmer like gold dust are distinctive and very elegant. 

The design, in which the grain of the wood is visible, also evokes a sense of natural and traditional beauty.

The name “amber wood” was chosen to express the transparency and warmth of the amber-like hue.

Cigar Piccolo HONKATAJI Heki-tame

Since the it is covered with cloth, the diameter will be about 1mm bigger than the original one.
To express “antique” or “old” looks, creat some cracks in the lacquer to reveal the cloth underneath, we create a texture that looks like it has been used for many years.
Because it is handmade, the shape and size of the cracks design will not be the same. Basically, there is one crack across the cap and body, two long and short cracks on the body, and one or two cracks on the grip section.
