Miyabigi Series SEIBOKUYA

“Seibokuya” expresses the warmth of wood with its grain and the twinkling of the starry sky in Raden.

Miyabigi Series KOHAKUBOKU

The wood is decorated with Urusih Nashiji technique.  The deep brown hue and fine shimmer like gold dust are distinctive and very elegant. 

The design, in which the grain of the wood is visible, also evokes a sense of natural and traditional beauty.

The name “amber wood” was chosen to express the transparency and warmth of the amber-like hue.

The unique pattern of black and gray blending with the warmth of the wood grain contrasts with the chic and calm design.

The name “Eiboku” expresses the simplicity of the combination of the shadow-like pattern and the grain of the wood.

Cigar Piccolo LAVA　

This pen was designed with inspiration from lava.
Carving with a carving knife to make grooves on “Nunokise” and “Honkagaji” finish base, sprinkling gold powder to the grooves. Then sprinkle charcoal powder and paint vermilion lacquer and blur it to express lava.

Dorsal Fin 1 ICE FIELD　

This pen is designed with image of an ice field in mind.
To sharpen the groove edges, cut it by carving knife.
Adding silver powders slightly to the groove.
It is left unpolished.

Cigar Long JUMPING CARP

The jumping carp, which is said to be a sign of good luck, is finished with charcoal powder.
The lively sound of the water surface is expressed with charcoal powder and heaped silver.

Cigar Piccolo SANYO-CHU (Trilobite)　

Trilobite fossil finished with charcoal powder.
It is a painstaking process in which layers of charcoal powder are piled up and scraped away little by little, as if digging up a real fossil.

GOAT SHRINK LEATHER

The fountain pen wrapped with goat shrink leather.
It is designed with a low center of gravity and metals are used to its cover and screws. Custimization is available to change the color of clip, pen nib, and metal parts.

The goat shirink leather is called “chari leather” in Japan, named after Mr. Charles Henninger who was an American tanner who promoted Western-style leather in Japan around the begining of Meiji era.
Crumple goat leather tanned with a plants astringency vertically, horizontally, and diagonally many times, to make deep unevenness on the surface. Because most of the processes needs expertise skill, only skilled craftsmen can manufacture it.
“Chari leather” is very rare and beautiful leather unique to Japan, it was used as a material for bags.

Miyabigi Series PHERNAMBUCO　

It is the same rectilinear form as “Bamboo Basket Mesh” and set the coveres made from Pernambuco. The size is almost the same as Piccolo but 1~2mm thicker because of the covers.
The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section are painted with black lacquer.
Because Pernambuco is a natural material, each wood grain and color will vary each other. To take advantage of the wood texture, It is only polished. Please be careful not to get ink on it because it is not coated. Also, since Pernambuco was originally used as a raw material for dyes, the color may transfer due to sweat or etc.

Pernambuco is a rare material native to Brazil and is used for the bows of stringed instruments. Due to excessive logging in Brazil, it is now protected by CITES and is difficult to obtain.

Cigar Long HORRIBLE SKELETON

Some apparition try to escape from between grip section and barrel or barrel itself so they make a crack on the barrel. The skeleton excludes us from the cracking space in the reproachful. One long arm of apparition expand from another crack. Inside of crack , there are fire flame , ghost, and lantern ghost…. But also this pen has also described “Dokkosho”. “Dokkosho” is magic bar which made evil things flee. So you can avoid every bad thing! Some of these apparition is described by a very famous Ukiyoe artist in Japan named Hokusai Katsushika (1760-1849). Maki-e technique ; Background is mainly used Koboku-shiage (ancient Indian ink powders finishing) ,Skelton and arm is Taka-makie (silver powder heaping up mathod). Apparition inside of crack. Mainly used tin round polished powders in Shu(red) color.
