Dorsal Fin 1 Suzu Ishime (Kikyo)　

This model has a fin on the cap that acts as a roll stopper.
It is designed with the image of a knife.
It is “Suzu Ishime” which uses “roasted tin powder” instead of Kanshitsu (dry lacquer) powder. Using the roasted tin powder made it possible to creates the material finish.
This Suzuishime blue uses the blue lacquer for the base, and the finish will be lighter than the black base one, and looks the silver the brighter.
“Ishime” is created with the special technique that makes stone like texture on the surface.
When the dry lacquer powder is sprinkled on a lacquered surface, surface tension works and the powder gathered in places.
Making use of the clumps created by chance, layer the lacquer, let it fix, and then polish it to create “Ishime”.
It will be the “cobblestone-like” finish in the garden.

Miyabigi Series KAGOAMIME

Based on the “Rattan Basket” fountain pen of Platinum Fountain Pens CO.,LTD. (produced around year 1924), it is designed in rectilinear form that was mainstream at the time covering with a bamboo basket knitted hexagonally using thinly shaved bamboo. The size is almost the same as Piccolo size.
The end of the cap and barrel, the grip section, and the basket are painted with black lacquer. The parts under the baske are finished with washed vermilion (Arai-shu) lacquer.

*”Hexagonal knitting” is the most popular bamboo knitting which the mesh looks like hexagon.

Miyabigi Series EIBOKU

The unique pattern of black and gray blending with the warmth of the wood grain contrasts with the chic and calm design.

The name “Eiboku” expresses the simplicity of the combination of the shadow-like pattern and the grain of the wood.

Since the decoration matches the grain of the wood, the expression of the urushi lacquer part differs from one piece to another.

The wood is decorated with Urusih Nashiji technique.  The deep brown hue and fine shimmer like gold dust are distinctive and very elegant. 

The design, in which the grain of the wood is visible, also evokes a sense of natural and traditional beauty.

The name “amber wood” was chosen to express the transparency and warmth of the amber-like hue.

Dorsal Fin 1 ICE FIELD　

This pen is designed with image of an ice field in mind.
To sharpen the groove edges, cut it by carving knife.
Adding silver powders slightly to the groove.
It is left unpolished.

D-17 Portable BAT

We expressed bats flying around freely in the middle of the night by Yakomakie (gold Makie).
The moon is drawn by Tame-Sukashi technique and clouds are thinly colored black on gold Maki-e.

D-17 Portable LONG WISTERIA

This piece features an illustration of “fuji flower (wisteria)”.
The wisteria is drawn with alternating flowers, buds and leaves, using the iro-togidashi technique, providing a glamorous look.

D-17 Long WHALE & WAVE 　

The whale is drawn with charcoal powder and finished with a black urushi lacquer polished. The eyes are made of tiny cut gold, and the whiskers are drawn one by one and sprinkled gold powder.
The design is such that all the rough waves around the whale merge into one at the tip of the pen barrel. They are drawn with silver powder, and adding height differences to each wave, creates the looks of waves colliding violently. In addition, the waves lines of are drawn one by one with very thin golden lines. The waves are also drawn on the grip section.
The whale is boldly placed in the detailed waves on a gorgeous background applied urushi lacquer using gold powder, creating a lively and gorgeous finish.
