Cigar Long NINE DRAGONS
Based on the ink painting “Nine Dragon Scroll” (owned by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts) by Southern Song artist Chen Rong (1189-1258), the motifs, nine dragons dancing among the clouds, are designed.Draw dragons with piling black lacquer up on the same color kuro-roiro(black) base and draw a dragon with Maki-e technique using silver powders in the center. This makes a move and expresses the dynamic dragon drawn by Chen Rong. The black lacquer and silver powder create an ink painting-like finish.
