Writer Portable AraiShu

This is the perfect length for everyday use and has a balance of portability and comfortableness of writing.
The color “AraiShu” is a different kind and quaint brighter vermilion from “Shu (vermilion)”.
“AraiShu” means a light vermilion color because the color becomes lighter after washing the dyed cloth. The color can be said close to orange red. The color range is wide, from a vermilion like reddish color to a salmon pink kind of color are called “AraiShu”.
It is one of the colors that became popular in the late Edo period with the revival of Yamato-e.

Writer Portable ShuNurihanashi

This is the perfect length for everyday use and has a balance of portability and comfortableness of writing.
The most traditional color of urushi, “Shu(vermilion)” is used and made it matte finish.
“NuriNanashi (unpolished)” is the technique without polishing after painting. It requires very high level techniques because there are no post processes.

Cigar Long Kuro Ishime

”Kuro Ishime” uses black lacquer for a base color and black dry lacquer powder.
It has a beautiful jet black finish that looks like an obsidian.

“Ishime” is created with the special technique that makes stone like texture on the surface. When the dry lacquer powder is sprinkled on a lacquered surface, surface tension works and the powder gathered in places.
Making use of the clumps created by chance, layer the lacquer, let it fix, and then polish it to create “Ishime”. It will be the “cobblestone-like” finish in the garden.

Cigar Portable Midori Ishime

”Midori Ishime” uses a special blue-green color lacquer for a base color and the same color dry lacquer powder.
The beautiful finish reminds of a turquoise with a color between blue and green.

“Kikyo Ishime” uses the blue, we called “Kikyo” lacquer for a base color and a blue dry lacquer powder.
The brilliant finish resembles lapis lazuli which has a deep blue color that seems to draw you in.

Cigar Long MOON　

This is a unique design drawing a silver moon boldly on a Kuro-roiro (black) base.
Piling up silver powders many times to create a three-dimensional effect and the uneven texture of the moon’s surface.
In addition, applying black lacquer from the surface of the moon towards the outside and polishing it to make it gradually getting lower express the dark side of the moon.

Cigar Piccolo ENJOYING THE MOON CAT　

The design is based on the theme of cats enjoying the moon. The two cats and the footprints on the grip section are drawn with “Yako Maki-e” technique. The moon is drawn with “Tamesukashi” technique. Base color is “Aka-tamenuri”.
“Yako Maki-e” is Nakaya’s original name for the technique that drawing motifs with black lacquer on “tamenuri” base. As the Tamenuri background becomes brighter over time, the black lacquered motifs become more apparent.

Cigar Portable FOX & HARVEST MOON　

A fox and the moon are drawn with Tamesukashi technique. To express white fur, if it is just put silver powders on the motif drawn with tamesukashi, only the parts will be appear to stand out. So, after drawing the fox with Tame Sukashi technique, adding transparent amber lacquer to the entire surface of the motif to create a slightly plump relief shape. Then, splinkleing silver powders to the abdomen and tip of tail to express white fur. The pampas grasses are drawn with Yako Maki-e technique to give it depth.

Cigar Portable WHITE ROSES

The standard color, Shu(vermilion) is used for the base and rose motifs are drawn on it with ivory white.
The design was inspired by the ivory combs and hairpins decorated using Shu(vermilion) color during the Edo period. The motifs are drawn with caring the balance between the rose flowers and vines and the Shu(vermilion) in the base color.
Due to drawing the rose motif in traditional colors, it creates a beautiful retro-modern atmosphere.

Cigar Piccolo LOTUS FLOWER　

One motif on the grip section by the highest technique (Taka-Makie).

A motif is a lotus flower on Gold Nashiji gradation and put colors by rubbing into Shu(red) and green.

There is only one part of motif, but elegant and beautiful.
